The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants is an early 21st century story about 4 friends in Maryland named Tibby, Carmen, Bridget and Lena who are about to spend their first summer apart, and are on the verge of growing up. 

Bridget Vreeland is the most impulsive off the bunch, running away emotionally from her mother's suicide many years ago.
